Following his joint project with rapper E.L on 2019’s “The Linkop” and the accompanying horror film of a year named 2020, Ayisi started to stealthily leak early tracks off his upcoming studio album, “The Unbroken.” He achieved this by gradually perfecting 19 tracks of beats from producers including Kuvie, TMXO, Acekeys, E.L, Sparxx, and Genius Selection. What happened? enjoyable, especially given how long it was.
Ayisi’s approach achieves many highs with different degrees of success while also yielding a number of surefire hits. When he throws anything at you, it always sticks, and when it doesn’t? That’s alright, though, because Akan, Obrafour, Prince Bright, and Efya are nearby to help him pick it up on their various outings—”Accra,” “Boa Me,” “Kawa Sane,” and “All For You”—respectively.
But for the most part, Ayisi manages to get along fine on his own. For instance, his most recent pre-released track, “Antiso,” makes a very specific reference to this. The singer’s solo albums have a lot of spiritual overtones, and the album’s lead songs, “Prayer” and “Blessings,” are his method of inspiring listeners with eye-popping tales of how he overcame adversity.
Ayisi stated over the phone that “motivation is the drive behind this new album,” and we have to agree that such a wonderful journey can only be the result of pure motivation.
